Cem Ertem - Founder
Cem Ertem. a graduate of Istanbul Technical University, holds a B.Sc. in Marine Engineering and is a certified A Class Chief Engineer. Between 2003 and 2005 he was the "Ships in Service" Director of Bureau Veritas, Istanbul Office. His position dealt with the responsibilities of coordinating all activities and monitoring the performance of all "Ships In Service" surveyors of Bureau Veritas. Between 1999 and 2003 Cem Ertem was a "Ships in Service" Surveyor of Bureau Veritas, Istanbul Office. His position responsibilities included performing all types of Class Surveys on board BV classed vessels for Class and Statutory Certification, as well as new-building projects. In summary, under the employment of BV, Cem Ertem undertook a variety of tasks, allowing him to achieve the following Qualifications and positions:
o Ships in Service Director (SSOM) for Turkey, Israel and Caspian Sea Countries o Crew and System Certification Director (CSOM)
o Certified Lead Auditor on ISM Code
o Maritime Security Auditor (MSA)
o BVQI Lead Auditor
o Regional Quality Auditor (Middle East Region)
o Certified Lead Auditor on ISO 9001: 2000 and ISO 9001: 1994
Prior to joining Bureau Veritas, Cem Ertem worked for several Turkish shipping companies, reaching the position of General Manager. As such, between 1997 and 1999 his duties included the technical management and the operational coordination of vessels, in addition to the proper implementation of the fleet's Planned Maintenance System (PMS) He was further responsible for the analysis of running costs and budgeting. Cem Ertem has also completed a total of 8 years of seagoing employment on board various types of vessel, the last 3 as A' Class Chief Engineer

Ece Ertem - Financial and Business Development Manager / Partner
Ece is a gratuated of Middle East Technical University as Food Engineer (METU - FDE 94') and of the Ankara University specializing in "Finance and Business Especially for Engineers" (BSS95'). Upon completion of her studies, she worked for Koc Holdings's different companies for 8 years, in different departments such as "Budget Department", "Retail Sales Management", "Sales for Major Customers" as manager. She worked also as an independent bussiness consultant for several companies. She is specialist for establishing managemnt systems especially for maritime sector. She is the Head of the Financial Departments of our company overviewing all financial activities. She is also Business Development Manager and Partner of the company since establishing in 2005.

Bulent Haznedar - Deputy Manager/ Partner/Senior Surveyor
Kocaeli University / Maritime Academy - Deck (1998-2001) Graduated with a diploma. Studied at Deck part. After two years experience of marine duty and working as an Operation Manager and DPA, he joined to our company and working since begining of 2008.

Okan Gün - Senior Surveyor
A graduate of the Deck Department at Ekol Maritime Training Center, Okan Gün began his maritime career working on general cargo, bulk carrier, tanker, and container vessels for various shipping companies. After gaining 4 years of experience as a Chief Mate, he joined the Klas Denizcilik family in 2011. Since 2011, he has been working as a Senior Surveyor and representative for the Vanuatu and Barbados flags, as well as various classification societies.

Selim Özdemir - Senior Surveyor
A graduate of the Deck Department at Odessa National Maritime University, Selim Özdemir joined our company in 2015 after completing 1 year of sea service. Since the same year, he has been serving in the position of Senior Surveyor, acting as a surveyor on behalf of the Vanuatu flag and as a representative for various classification societies.

Volkan Altınbaş - Senior Surveyor
A graduate of Uludağ University, Volkan Altınbaş joined our company in 2015 following 2 years of service as a Designated Person Ashore (DPA). Since that year, he has continued his duties in the capacity of Senior Surveyor, representing the Vanuatu flag as a surveyor and acting as a representative for several classification societies.


Sercan Bekpen - Marine Surveyor
A graduate of Near East University's Faculty of Maritime Studies, Sercan Bekpen began his maritime career serving on general cargo, bulk carrier, and RO-RO vessels for various companies. After completing his sea service as a 2nd Officer, he joined Klas Denizcilik in May 2022. Since then, he has been working as a Surveyor, representing Vanuatu flag, as well as various classification societies.

Cihan Kalkan - Marine Surveyor
Cihan Kalkan, a graduate of the Deck Department at Ekol Maritime Training Center, began his maritime career by serving on general cargo, bulk carrier, platform supply and offshore support vessels for various companies. He completed his sea service as a 2nd Officer and DPO (Dynamic Positioning Operator). As of January 2024, he joined the Klas Shipping family. He currently continues his role as a surveyor within Klas Shipping, acting as a representative for the Vanuatu flag and various classification societies.

Emir Kalemci - Marine Surveyor
Emir Kalemci, who graduated from Pendik Maritime Vocational High School Deck Department, started his maritime career by working on general cargo, bulk cargo, RO-RO vessels of various companies. After completing his total sea experience as 2nd Officer, he joined Klas Denizcilik family in February 2024. Since the same date, he has been working as a surveyor for Vanuatu and Barbados flags and as a representative of various classification societies

Nazli Kurt - STCW Department
A graduate of Marmara University with a degree in Foreign Trade, Nazli Kurt embarked on her maritime career by taking her initial steps within Klas Denizcilik's STCW department. Joining the Klas Denizcilik family in 2022, she has since been instrumental in handling seafarer endorsements and certification in accordance with international maritime standards for the flags our company operates under.

Aleyna Usta - Registration Department
A graduate of Sıtkı Koçman University, Aleyna Usta joined the maritime sector in 2025 with Klas Denizcilik, commencing her career in the Registration Department. Since then, she has been serving in the registrar position, managing the registration processes for the flags represented by our company in accordance with international regulations and requirements. She plays a crucial role as the primary liaison between flag state authorities and shipowners.

İrem Çiçek - Secretary and Junior Accountant
İrem Çiçek, who is currently continuing her studies in the Civil Air Transportation Management department at Atatürk University, joined the Klas Denizcilik family in 2023. Within our company, she undertakes secretarial duties and handles preliminary accounting transactions.
